Angel's story

 On a Sunny day at 6:00am awoke a girl named Oliver Smith. The reason why she woke up was because it was her 10th birthday! She was so excited she woke up with a smile, for the first time! She ran quickly to her two brothers' room. First she went to Lukah’s room and started screaming. Lukah woke up quickly and said “Happy Birthday!” She said “thank you” really fast and started running as fast as a cheetah to her other brother's room. “Elijah!” she repeated 3 more times. After Lukah hit him with a pillow he woke up. He held a frown on his face and stared at Lukah, while he looked at Oliver with a big smile as he said “happy birthday.” 

They ran down stairs to the smell of pancakes. “Delicious!” Oliver said as running down the stairs. “What a surprise!” shouted Elijah when he saw Dad making the breakfast as the mum provided different options of beverages. ( Juice, Water, Iced tea and hot chocolate ) Of course they all picked hot chocolate as there were marshmallows inside. ( their favourite )  Their mom handed their ipads to the kids. Oliver started watching her favourite movie Tiana as the Lukah and Elijah shared an ipad and watched spiderman! They devoured the pancakes as if there were vacuums. 

After breakfast they had a scavenger hunt, the best part about it was that there was a special prize at the end if you get past the riddles! They couldn’t wait so before even two they ran up and down the stairs every two minutes. After half an hour they all found it. Oliver got an iphone 13 while Elijah got three v bucks gift cards. As Lukah got something he really wanted in a long time! It was an anime poster filled with naruto characters. He screamed like a girl and went to hang it up quickly. He was so amazed that he couldn’t stop talking about it.

Later on Oliver had a football game and was waiting for it for two weeks. They dropped her off two hours before because they were selling free hotdogs! She ate two hotdogs with ketchup and mustard. They started warming up by running side to side with cones. When the game started she already scored the first goal. As it went on Oliver scored half of the points then something wrong happened. The ball hit her stomach so hard ( due to the opponents goal keeper kick ) The brothers ran straight away to her when they saw her on the ground crying in pain. The brothers were only twelve years old at that time. Lukah screamed at the goalkeeper that she's lucky that she's a girl or else something toxic would happen.

The mum and dad called the ambulance. The doctors asked “what did she eat?” As the mum and dad replied with a “hotdog.” The doctor told her parents that the food wasn’t cooked properly. They tried to go back to the soccer field where the hotdog stand was but there was no one there. But there was the goal keeper. Lukah ran to her and said sorry. She said it was alright and she’s just happy that nothing serious happened between them two. Lukah went back to find the hotdog stand a few roads down. He stared and froze and if a horror movie was on. But it was even worse! He was close to a dog with a pocket knife! Now he regrets having the hotdog. Then he realized it was a HOT DOG! A real life dog went in his mouth! He just stood there and puked!

While the man with the knife was approaching Lukah puking. The police backup were right behind him and told the man “drop your weapons” or anything that could murder or hurt anyone. As he was handcuffed and put in the car he said something that still haunts Lukah from this day on.  The man said “ this isn’t over!” As he laughed like a crazy psycho looking at Lukah with red eyes. After hearing the news saying that the man was a prisoner, escaped and stayed outdoors for two weeks.

Lukah was happy that he saw his parents and siblings okay. Oliver took a quick shower and put on warm clothes. As she was walking down the stairs she smelt food cooking. She was so hungry that she couldn’t wait, she rushed down the stairs and heard them singing “happy birthday.” She was so excited and hungry at the same time . She made her wish and cut her cake. It was her favourite cake, red velvet cake. She was so hungry she went straight to the steak and rice. She started to eat so fast and asked for a second! It was like she was Matt Stonie! She then saw a fruit salad and started digging into it.

She said “thank you” to her brothers and parents for a beautiful and great day.

Angel - What I did today

Today my whole class did a New Zealand Maori dance. I was excited. I didn’t think I could join because I had to do my speech. But my teacher said it was “fine”! We learnt Tena Koutou dance.  It’s gonna be great, can't wait. The girls all have to be in the dance while all the boys are doing their dance. I saw/heard some others doing it. Some of the boys want to do the Kapa Haka while some boys wanna sing. We were planning something serious because it’s for next week! Then our teacher said we only have 2-3 minutes. We got in position and started the dance/singing. I think we did a really great job! Good luck to the others doing the dance

Angel - Matariki Celebration

  I had fun looking at everyone's hard work. Especially when the room four sang the Matariki Macarina. 

During school we were making posters. ( Matariki posters and wishing stars ) We started off with the wishing stars because it was much easier than the Matariki posters, because we had to draw and create some papers/names of the Matariki stars. We used lots of stuff to make it and it turned out so nice/creative. We got lots and lots of time to make it. It took only one and a half weeks to make it. We didn’t add too much stuff or else we won’t fit the names for in the paper. We put a lot of hard work into our Matariki poster/wishing stars. Matariki is something to celebrate. It is even the eldest star that looks after the other stars. Like parents, but a sister. Matariki is another name for a Maori new year. Everyone celebrates it but the most is the Maori people celebrating it because it is a Maori New Year for them! We celebrate it by making some food and bringing all of your family members to have a celebration. 

We started printing out the papers and drawing patterns. We did designs like hearts or stars. After we were done doing patterns then we had to put on glitter! I was excited to do it, because it would make it nice and colourful. After a few more days it was time to put it in the coritedoor for everyone to see. I wanted to guide the people/students around our Matariki posters and wishing stars. When we did our Matariki posters, we added lots of information. 

Did you know that the Matariki stars are a cluster not a constellation? Matariki is one of the star clusters nearest to Earth.  Did you know Matariki has many different names around the world? For example, Matariki means the eye of God. I like how the people in the Kapa Haka tried their best to perform in front of everyone. 

A few minutes later we were done looking at everyone’s hard work. We were waiting for the hangi food so then the bell rang and we lined up and went to the hall… We were sitting in a circle, so then we decided to play somakalo. After one class went to get their hangi food. Then it was Room 8’s turn to come and get our food. After I finished eating my hangi food, I went to go and play in the park. After a few minutes the bell rang and so we went to the hall. We watched the people perform. I was proud of my friend when she memorized the whole kapa Haka. There was only one person in our class who was in the Kapa Haka. 

I felt so excited and to see my friend perform/eat my hangi food! 

Angel - Solar System

 On Tuesday the 2rd of june,2020 I made a planet display art. It turned out to be great. It was important to me to not play with scissors. Well you know how I did  right now.

First my teacher Mrs Kumar gave me one brown paper and one white paper. They were both big. When I got my two papers I tried to make my solar system display art as quick as I can so I can have free time. But when I made my sun I did squiggly lines like a worm,it was easy. After that I made Mercury and venus. Since I didn’t know what colour it is I searched it up on my chromebook. My solar system was nearly complete. It was pretty hard. But I did it.

Next I did the other planets. I remember stopping at earth because it was home time. But when I had to make my solar system display art I was proud of me,even though I stopped at earth I still tried my best.

We all tried our best,not just me. So the next day I continued to do my solar system. Then I made Mars,Jupiter and then saturn. I needed a compass to make my poster. My compass really helped me. So when I made my circles I got glue and glued it on. It looked amazing because I coloured it in. When I got the glue,I put too much on the paper,so then the glue went through the other paper I glued it on,the brown paper. So then the glue went through and it got soggy.

Then I was measuring the planets,it was hard but I managed to do it. It took me time to do it. I completed it in two days. After a while I got bored looking at my work. I was thinking about night time,so then I added some stars. I didn’t draw on the white paper then cut it out. I just got a yellow marker and drew some stars everywhere. Do you like planets? What is your favourite planet? But anyways I had to make it properly,but because it had to be perfect.

Angel - Can You Keep A Secret?

 Once upon a time there were two werewolves. They went to school disguised. They wore: One wore a brown wig when the other wore a blonde wig. They had two shoes filled with fluff. They had brown eyes with smelly breath. ( YUCK ) Sharp teeth that are almost is black, brown skin! It was too hard for them to find stuff to digest them. But then they found a chest filled up with a potion. They drank it and experienced a lot!

They went to school looking different and were very popular. They went to the restroom and found them beautiful. They both said “WOW”! They were so surprised to be this beautiful. They washed their hands and went outside. Everyone was laughing at them so they went back to the restroom and found them wearing wigs and having messy makeup!

They went outside. Before going outside they grabbed some toilet paper and covered their face with it. But when they took it off there was nobody near them. So they found a teacher and asked “where the other students were”? The teacher replied with an angry face rather than a happy face. The teacher told where they were. The two werewolves were embarrassed, because all the other students were at home. The teacher said that they took two hours in the restroom!

The girls got their bag and went outside. Sadly it was raining outside and the school bus already left, so they had to walk. They covered themselves with their bags. When they went home their bag was too wet! 

They made a lot of mess and ended up cleaning it up. They went back to school and ignored the haters. They met some nerds who wanted to be friends with them. They said “yes” because the two werewovlies were each other's friends. Two years later the werewolves told the nerds that they were beasts. The two friends didn’t care because they were best friends. The werewolves said please don’t tell anyone? The nerds say they won’t. The next day Sandy made fun of the werewolves calling them beasts. They didn’t live a happy life.

Angel - My Mask

 The first mask I ever made (HAPPY)

On Monday the 25th of May,2020 I made a paper towel mask. Mask is something which people wear to cover their full face or part of their face. People wear masks to protect themselves from the virus or air-borne diseases.

My teacher taught the whole Room 8 kids how to make a paper towel mask. Our teacher said to get a paper towel,fold it like a fan,fold the sides, get two rubber bands and put it in the sides you folded. When you do that, staple it then,there is your mask. A mask is an object that protects yourself.

It is very important to wear your mask so you don’t get sick. Even when you go somewhere you could see more than five people wearing masks. Towards the end I was shocked that I could make it. When we made it,it kinda didn’t turn out good but we still tried our best. Everyone was proud of themselves. At school when I made it everyone was so excited to wear it. I felt so happy that I made my first mask.                                                                           

Angel - Impromptu Writing ( A Scary Night )

 One windy night two friends called Sam and John wanted to go to a party. ( Teenager party ) They begged their parents if they could go. They mum said yes. The parents didn’t mind,but they did mind if they got kidnapped. The two friends were laughing. They stopped laughing until they heard the mum say kidnap. They didn’t want to get kidnapped,because they were only teenagers. They thought they were strong,so then they started dressing up for the party. A few minutes later they arrived at the party. They were pretty scared to go inside because it was hallowed. They started walking in. They stopped like a statue . They only froze because they heard something move. The boy was trying to save his friend because that was the only friend he had. They didn’t really hear something move,they heard something like a ghost. They thought it was a wolf howling. Then for a minute they saw someone holding a knife! They were screaming so hard for help but they forgot that the party was in the middle of the woods. Then there was a dog. ( Dogs see ghost! ) The dogs were barking so hard because the ghost was in the man for not believing in God. But then because the two friends believed in God,God saved them! It was a miracle! They thought it was a dream so they started slapping himself. Now they were thinking that they shouldn’t ever go to parties. The cops were included as well. 

Angel - A Scary Night

 This is so scary. I hope that doesn’t happen to me.

One day Jackie went to school. “When school was finished his friend Sam asked if he wanted to come to my house”? Jackie asked his Mum if he could go to his friends house so he doesn’t have to do his homework. The mum said “yes”, because the Mum needed to go work and the son didn’t want to have a babysitter because his friends would call him a baby. He went to Sam’s house and took off his shoes. Sam said. “Let me on the lights”. The lights wouldn't go on so he went to go on the kitchen light so they can meet there. Jackie was kinda creeped out but he wanted to stay at Sam’s house so he doesn’t do his homework. 

Sam and Jackie went upstairs to play some video games. Sam and Jackie were playing NBA. Lucky Sam had two play stations. After five or four games of playing they wanted to watch a horror movie. They went downstairs and watched Annebelle. The worst part of watching a horror movie is when it’s night time. They heard a very sharp noise. The noise sounded like it was metal and metal scraping together! They were so scared like a shark chasing them! Sam didn’t even know what was going on. Sam’s mum woke up from her peaceful sleep. She got up and brought her bat with her.

She tiptoed down the stairs. She wasn’t happy at all. When she saw the blanket covering itself, she slowly went near the couch. She was wondering why a horror movie was on? After the mum grabbed the remote her son underneath the blanket grabbed her arm. The mum was shocked. She tried to go away but before she got away she took the blanket off. Who did she see? She saw her son and Jackie. The door started knocking. BANG BANG BANG! “Let me in”. She grabbed the two kids and brought them upstairs. 

All they could hear was the stairs creaking and creaking. The person banged the door that the mum and the kids were in. BANG BANG BANG! The man got his chainsaw and cut the door open. He was lucky it was a wooden door. Then the man heard a ghost saying woooooooooooooooooooo! He was scared that he ran all the way back from where he came from. He dropped the chainsaw and left. After a few days later he was never to be seen again. 

One day Jackie and Sam went swimming at the beach. Sam didn't know how to swim so he wore a floaty. After a few minutes they saw the man. He came and drowned Sam because he knew that Jackie could just swim away. Sam was blowing bubbles. He couldn’t blow any more so the man left Sam. Jackie did CPR to Sam but Sam didn’t awake. So the ambulance came. He took Sam to the hospital. Jackie cried and prayed to God to awake him but he didn’t. Two days later Sam awoke. Jackie thanked God for saving his friend. God told them. The man had an evil spirit in him, that’s why he did those evil things. Then they lived happily ever after. The End.

Angel - Pam, Pam

 Once upon a time there was a cow walking past and met a frog sitting on a log. The frog asked something to the cow but then the cow said,No Thanks. So when she said no thanks she kept walking,she was very interested in the trees.

 The frog was just sitting on the log,still. When she kept walking she saw Drake with cake and he asked do you want to swim in the lake? Drake didn’t ask if you wanted to have some cake''. She also said no thanks even though she saw some cake.It looked very delish. So she remembered what they said.

 So once again she kept walking,while she was walking she saw a goat with a coat and also asked if you wanted to go in my boat?. She will always say no thanks so she will never hurt their feelings.

While she kept walking she saw a cat wearing a hat and playing with a bat. He asked do you want to play with my bat,Pam Pam said no thanks, She will always be walking around and sees his friend pig,pig was wearing a wig and asked do you want to dance a jig,she also said no thanks.

So she remembered everything they said,the cow walked back to the pig, she asked the pig. I do not want to jig but may I wear your wig? The pig said yes. She walked back to the cat,I do not want to play with your bat but can I wear your hat? The cat said yes. The cow walked back again to the goat, the cow said,I do not want to go in your boat but can I have your coat? The goat also said yes. Again the cow went to Drake,the cow said. I do not want to swim in the lake but I would like some of your cake. Drake said yes,he took some cake and went to the frog.

She said to the frog,I do not want to go in the bog but can I sit on your log,so when he sat down on the log he ate the cake. Everyone was so nice and let him keep some of their stuff. The End

Angel - Coronavirus Poem.

 Coronavirus poem

            It started in Wuhan

                                  Which is China

                                 Many people got sick

                                 Many people died

                            Many people had coronavirus

              Even when people had it,they wanted to live

                     Stay two meters away from people

                      Wash your hand for 20 seconds 

                            Make sure to dry them

              Don’t shake it,the water will go on people

                          Remember to wear a face mask

             When you go to the shops I prefer you to wear glove because the people touch things then never end up buying it

            Use hand sanitizer,rub it in for 20 seconds

   Even wash your hands after the toilet and before you cook

                        Avoid standing next to people

                     Avoid kissing and hugging

                      Stay inside for two weeks

      Watch the NEWS so you know what will happen

                     Wash your hands before eating

                  Avoid touching your face

                  Avoid touching your nose 

                 Avoid touching your eyes

                Don’t eat stuff that is on the floor

Angel - Cook Island week!

It was exciting to learn some Cook Island words.

First we went outside and did two rounds of running. It was raining so we had to go inside. When we went inside we were learning some Cook Island words. Our teacher went on the home learning page and then went on the slide that say’s, learn Cook Island words. The first word to learn is, Hello. In Cook Island we say hello like this. Kia Orana. The second word we are going to learn is, How are you. In Cook Island we say How are you like this. Pe’ea koe. After we had to learn it to go on to the next word. We were learning how to say I am fine in Cook Island. In Cook Island we say it like this. Meitaki au. My Partner is Cook Island as well, so she will know half of it but then she asked me for help and so I did. Then our teacher was testing us the words. We got all of them right so then we were on the next word. The next word to learn is How about you. In Cook Island we say it like this. Akape’ea koa. Then the next word is the same. Meitaki au. ( I am fine )

Next our teacher tested us again, but she didn’t test us on those words which is, How are you and I am fine. She tested us on all the words. She tested us on the first word. Like Hello, she started with. ( Kia Orana ) The next word is to say is How are you?'' ( Pe’ea koa ) The next is I am fine.

( Meitaki au ) The big word is How about you. ( Akape’ea koa ) Then it is just the same word which means I am fine. ( Meitaki au ) 

Then we went to get our chromebook and did some writing about Cook Island week. It was pretty hard pronouncing it, but I did it. I didn’t know how to pronounce it but when I got tested I got it right. The best part about learning Cook Island words is that it is Cook Island week. My mum always says this to me if I take a long shower. Aere - Hurry up. I learnt more words from a video which means Goodbye. Aere ra - Goodbye. Eno’ora - Goodbye.

After we all went home. When I went home I asked my mum how to say some Cook Island words. When I asked my mum how to say Cook Island words I said thank you in Cook Island. Thank you - May-tah-key. 

Finally we arrived at school and focused on our Cook Island words. I was so happy, excited, grateful and marviles because I got to learn some Cook Island words and got to use it in front of the school. The best part is that I am a Cook Islander. I got to learn some things from my teacher Mrs Kumar. Especially when I got to correct her.
